Getting the right look

Our next stop is Handmade and More in New Paltz. The shop is filled with home décor, jewelry, and of course clothes. We are greeted by shop owner Melinda Minervini, who leads us upstairs. Melinda thinks the best thing for the ladies to do is to first take a walk around the store.

There are so many brands and unique handmade items to choose from that the hunt for the perfect outfit seems overwhelming. Handmade saleswoman Kelly starts by asking the women if they were missing something from their wardrobe, like a dress for a special occasion.

McCabe picks out a green cargo skirt, a pink tank top, and a scarf that ties the outfit together. This outfit is perfect for days in the park with her son.

Goldstein wears a lot of black, so she is in need of a little color. She stays with black pants from the Comfy and a navy blue tank top from Eileen Fischer, to which she adds a light blue sweater that helps accentuate her eyes.

End result

At the end of the day, these two women got a chance to revamp their looks and an opportunity to relax. “It was like spending a day with old friends,” says King.
